Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how Stern & Signal Labs Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in Nigeria (RC 9575107), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our applications — including MeetingIntro (Mac), BumpAI (Android), NutriloggerAI (iPhone), and TV Messenger (Android TV) — and our website (together, the "Services"). Different apps collect different data; where it matters, we say which app we mean.
1. Information we collect — by app
Our apps are built to keep as much of your data on your own device as possible. Here's what each one handles:
- MeetingIntro (Mac) — reads your calendar to show and remind you of meetings, either from local macOS calendars (via Apple's EventKit) or from Microsoft 365 (via Microsoft Graph, using your own sign-in). If you turn on recording, it captures meeting audio and saves it locally on your Mac. Transcription runs on-device by default; if you enable cloud transcription or AI notes, the relevant audio/text is sent to the AI provider you configure (see §3). MeetingIntro contains no third-party analytics or tracking, and checks GitHub for its own software updates.
- TV Messenger (Android TV) — runs on your own home network through a message hub you host. The messages, photos, and voice notes you send stay within your network and are not sent to us. It can read public calendar (ICS) feeds you choose to add. No account, no third-party analytics.
- BumpAI (Android) — stores the pregnancy & health data you enter (symptoms, vitals, nutrition, appointments, ultrasound images). Its AI runs on a self-hosted, private model, so your health data is processed on a private network and is not sent to any third-party AI provider. [Confirm your hosting/storage details.]
- NutriloggerAI (iPhone) — stores your meals, food photos, and nutrition entries. It uses cloud services (an account/sync backend and an AI provider — see §3). NutriloggerAI has its own dedicated Privacy Policy at nutriloggerai.com/privacy, which governs that app.
- Accounts & purchases — if an app offers an account or a subscription, we collect your [name/email]; payments are handled by Apple or Google, so we receive confirmation of a purchase, never your card details.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the app's core features (e.g. generating guidance, calculating nutrition).
- To personalise your experience.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
- To respond to your support requests.
- [Any other uses — e.g. marketing emails only with consent]
3. AI processing
Some features use artificial intelligence. When you use them, only the information needed for that feature is sent to an AI provider for processing:
- MeetingIntro — AI meeting notes and optional cloud transcription use the provider you select in Settings, which may include Google (Gemini), Groq, or Cerebras, via your own API key. On-device transcription (WhisperKit) sends nothing to the cloud. [Confirm default provider and whether a key is user-supplied.]
- BumpAI — runs its AI on a self-hosted local model. Your inputs are processed on a private network and are not sent to any third-party AI provider.
- NutriloggerAI — food photos and chat are analysed by Google (Gemini). See NutriloggerAI's own Privacy Policy for details.
Where a third-party AI provider is used, then to the best of our knowledge it does [not] use your data to train its models when accessed through its API — [verify against each provider's current API terms]. We never send more than the feature requires.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- AI providers — for the AI features in §3: Google, Groq, or Cerebras (your choice) for MeetingIntro, and Google (Gemini) for NutriloggerAI. BumpAI uses a self-hosted model and shares nothing with a third-party AI provider.
- Platform providers — Apple and Google (app distribution, in-app purchases), and Microsoft (only if you connect a Microsoft 365 calendar in MeetingIntro).
- Other service providers we may use for hosting or infrastructure, under contract and only as needed. [List any others]
- Legal authorities, where required by law.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, then delete or anonymise it. [State your retention period] You can request deletion at any time (see "Your rights").
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under Nigeria's NDPR and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@sternandsignals.com.
7. Children
Our Services are intended for adults and are not directed at children under [13/16]. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to notify you of any breach as required by law.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own (including where our providers operate). Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the date above; significant changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
